Visit our Research Farm
Each year at the Seeds of Change® Research Farm and Gardens we grow over a thousand varieties of plants. In close collaboration with our extensive network of certified organic seed growers and plant breeders, we cultivate, study, refine, and expand the broad genetic diversity that we offer. This work furthers our goal of supplying gardeners and market growers with a diverse and fascinating selection of the truest, most vigorous lines of 100% organic, open-pollinated seeds. We also test the tools and other gardening products we offer. Furthermore, we experiment with various organic methods like different ways to compost, water, and cover crop. We do this to further our knowledge base that we seek to share through our garden tours, publications, lectures, and this website.
Farm Tours
Every year we invite gardeners and farmers who share in our excitement to visit us on our open farm tour dates, usually set for late August and mid-September. Watch for dates announced on our website and in our e-newsletter.
Rancho la Paz, the Seeds of Change® Farm
At our Seeds of Change® Research Farm organically grown seeds are more than a commodity. They are a living, breathing, dynamic entity that we continually cultivate, study, and develop. Our goal is to produce the finest open-pollinated varieties to share with our fellow gardeners and farmers. Through our research we are intimately familiar with our varieties, are able to expand our offerings, maintain confidence in the quality of our seed, and provide detailed, accurate information about what we sell.
The Farm
The Seeds of Change® Farm was begun in Gila, NM, in 1989 by several passionate gardeners with a vision of preserving good open-pollinated seed varieties and promoting seed saving. Many hands contributed to the evolution of this company and the collection of seeds we now have to offer.
